The attitude of gratitude

Standard

One of the things I love about the Universal principle that you can attract all you want in life with a grateful attitude.

No matter what your situation is in life, there is always something (and often much more) to be grateful for.

You might already be rich (share your tips please 😀 ), or a little bit less rich, like the average people, or you situation might be a little bit like my own, having hard times and experiencing struggles, etc. or… there are thousands of different situations, millions maybe. Every situation is unique! Especially if you experience lacks in life, no matter if that’s financial, romantic, health issues, or whatever plays part in your life, it’s very important to look at what you do have in life instead of focussing on what you don’t have.

A grateful mindset is a true blessing. If you focus on all the great things that are present in your life you will start to attract more great things. It is really that simple. Go and try it out. What are you grateful for? Write it down in your journal, do it every day! Welcome all the small and big gifts the Universe offers you. Feel joy for all the good things in your life.

I am for example grateful to live in a wonderful house, to have great pets, to meet beautiful people, to be able to write this blog and inspire other people, to be able to walk, talk, enjoy things…

It starts with the small things, we often forget this. Maybe you find a dime on the street… feel joy if that occurs! Or it might be someone who smiles at you. Or makes you feel happy!

Embrace your life, exclude nothing. If you can master being grateful for all things that make you feel good you’ll create a different mindset and you will start attracting… It starts with thoughts, feelings and actions. Whenever a negative thought of lack in your life pops up, switch to a thought of gratitude. Make a large list of all the things in your life and re-read it as often as you can. Small miracles might occur, because you’re worth it, we all are…

The attitude of gratitude is a great tool on your way to living a happier life, attracting more of what you really want, to feel better and to feel connected to all other human beings. I’m grateful that you took the time to read my post, thank you so much!

The wallet process

Standard

I love to google, twitter, read blogs, etc. about attracting money and wealth. Today I found a very interesting blog post offering a simple process to create an abundant mindset called “the wallet process”.

In this blog post the author, Keith Cook, advises to obtain a 100 dollar bill and keep it on your person at all times. Plus you need to remind yourself often that it’s there. Whenever you walk through the mall or shopping street think of all the stuff you could buy with 100 dollar. Clothes, a nice dinner, or whatever you’d love to buy.

The feeling you have the money already changes your mindset! Your changed vibration will start to attract more money. Keith writes this about it:

if you were to remember your hundred dollars and spend it on the first thing that you notice, you gain the benefit of really feeling your financial well-being only once. But if you mentally spent that hundred dollars 40 or 50 times that day, you gain the feeling advantage of having spent 4 or 5 thousand dollars.

I find this theory very interesting, I’ve never tried it, 100 dollar or in my case 100 euro is a lot of money to me! Still I want to try it! And I think I know a way to do it as I own a credit card 😉 I can obtain that 100 euro bill, just to give it a try, to get into the vibration of abundance, wealth, to empower myself. It could even be fun!

Have you ever tried this? I’d love to hear experiences from people! I’ll keep you posted of my own with the wallet process. It’s an exciting idea! Don’t you think so? I definitely do!

About the Law of Attraction

Standard

I’m not a Law of Attraction guru, but I do study its principles. If you’re new to the Law of Attraction (LOA) you might wonder what it is all about. I’ll give it a try to share some information about the LOA that you might find useful to understand the principles better.

Description of the Law of Attraction

The law of attraction is the belief that anyone can determine their destiny through the power of their minds.

“The LOA attracts to you everything you need, according to the nature of your thoughts. Your environment and financial condition are the perfect reflection of your habitual thinking.”  Joseph Murphy

The theory behind the LOA is the belief that energy attracts like energy in the vast expanse of space and time that comprises our Universe. You and I are constantly radiating energy out into space. What type of energy we radiate depends on our emotions, thoughts, feelings, etc.

In what mood are you today?

If you’re happy you radiate happy (strong) energy. You’re in the flow, you feel powerful, etc. On the other hand, if you feel sad, tired you’ll radiate the opposite energy, instead of strong energy you radiate weak energy. Wonder what person will accomplish what he/she wants better: the happy person or the sad/tired person… The answer is not so difficult and it shows the basic principle of the LOA.

No modern New Age nonsense

The LOA is not some kind of modern New Age nonsense. Did you know that the principles of the Law of Attraction date back far beyond the new-found popularity of the New Age?

The immortal Buddha was actually one of the first to introduce man to the Law Of Attraction. He said taught his students:

“What you have become is what you have thought.”

This was a principle that the people of the east were acquainted with for centuries before it began to sweep into the western society.

The LOA began to gain popularity in the western society in the 19th century, as people began to appreciate the power of positive thinking and apply it to their life. This new concept was first introduced to the general public by William Walker Atkinson, the editor of New Thought magazine. Atkinson published a book called “Thought Vibration” or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World in 1906.

The LOA is not new. The concept that our thoughts can have a predominate effect on the course of a man’s destiny has been taught by many wise men and women throughout the ages.

The Optimist Creed

Standard

The Optimist Creed (Christian D. Larson) was originally published in 1912 in a book titled ‘Your forces and how to use them’. These words are so powerful! I read this every morning and every evening and it helps me to stay connected to my forces, to my inner power, that flow of energy you need to manifest what you want in life. Or to stay strong in challenging times.

Christian D. Larson believed that people have tremendous latent powers and so do I. A lot is possible, even if things in life seem to be impossible.

If you’re curious like I am: more about Christian D. Larson can be found here:

http://christianlarson.wwwhubs.com/

The page also offers a free prosperity e-book and email course! I just subscribed, I’ll let you know if it’s worth reading 😉

It’s a pleasure to share the Optimist Creed with you. Print it and keep it on your nightstand or another visible place. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as I do!

The Optimist Creed:

Promise Yourself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature you meet.

To give so much time to improving yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

To think well of yourself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud word, but in great deeds.

To live in the faith that the whole world is on your side, so long as you are true to the best that is in you.

Confused

Standard

While I was reading Joe Vitale’s e-book I came to a chapter that blocked me 100%. I felt so disappointed… In shock. Almost desperate… “here it ends for me”, I thought.. but I was wrong 😉

Let me explain, Joe writes that in order to receive whatever you want to attract in life you need to give back. Now don’t misunderstand me! I wasn’t shocked about that as I share his thoughts about that principle. If you keep everything in life to yourself you block the flow, no matter what it is. If you block the flow you will manifest more of that and I’m pretty sure you can imagine what the result will be.

Now why was I disappointed and (almost) felt trapped… Joe also wrote you have to give 10% of your money back to society, a spiritual cause, person or people, or whatever your heart goes out to. I was so shocked, my income is so low right now, it doesn’t cover the basic stuff people need like paying the rent, electricity bill, health insurance etc. So it is impossible to give away 10% of my income, I’d love to do that but it’s simply no option, I need to eat, etc. and survive (that’s what I’m doing right now). I almost cried, because I am so motivated to work with the e-book and follow each and every step, read it, act upon it, as I’m told to do, because this time I want to make it a success. You can imagine that I felt a bit desperate… if I can’t follow that step the book won’t work…

After going through this strong emotions I decided to write an email to Joe, this is what I wrote:

If you allow me i have one burning question about the 10% giving back to society/spiritual stuff/what the heart goes out to… at this moment I don’t even have a dime in my pocket, I’m hungry as right now i don’t have money to buy food at all. That is where I am, so how on earth can I be able to chop 10% of my income etc. I’d LOVE doing it if i wasn’t in the situation I’m in right now. All I have right now is debts, no job (I’m disabled)…. I don’t want to give 10% of the debts to organisations and people I’d so much would love to support

What to do as i really want to follow each step to open the gates to freedom and being able to follow my heart (writing, inspiring people and coaching people)! I believe I can do it! I LOVE people, I LOVE writing, those are my passion!

Thanks for the free e-book and much much love to you, I’ll keep you posted on my progress!

I didn’t even expect an answer, I just had to share it and get it out of my system. It felt okay and after I pressed the ‘send’ button I even felt relieved. I was so pleasantly surprised I got an answer the same day! Not from Joe Vitale personally of course 😉 But from a lovely Customer Service Representative who really knows what she’s talking about, I share her answer with you:

Thank you for contacting Dr. Joe Vitale’s office. Joe is in receipt of you email and thanks you for taking your time to write and send us an email. We are happy to hear from you and I would like to offer you some advice in giving to others.  We don’t ever suggest giving something you don’t have to give. By all means, feed thyself. Dr. Hew Len in zero limits says: “Take care of yourself first and everyone around you will be taken care of.  “Once you are in a position where you have it to give and if giving in the moment feels right to you, then feel free to give back to those who have provided you with divine nourishment.

Giving 10% away doesn’t have to be in the form of money.  It could be other resources that you may have that you could share. Maybe it’s volunteering 10% of your free time somewhere. Maybe it’s lending a shoulder to someone who needs to be listened to. Maybe it’s rescuing or helping a stray animal. If you follows your intuition, you will be shown the way. All the best to you Anja and again thank you for your lovely email.

I am so grateful I received this great answer. I totally misunderstood the part of giving 10%, I thought it had to be money, but I was wrong. What a good thing it was I emailed Joe!

I can do that and already do, for example: I love helping animals in need, I offer my home to them, especially dogs! I have 3 dogs, they were all in need and 2 of them were stray animals. Besides helping animals I love supporting people as well. In many ways! And even blogging about my journey is giving back, sharing my personal thoughts and experiences is not only a way for me to express myself, I do it because I really hope you also benefit from it and perhaps recognise stuff I experience on my way to freedom and abundance.

I’m going to think of other ways to give back, I love being creative, I don’t want to stick to only a few things I can do for other people. I might even give back much more than 10% and as long as it doesn’t feel like something I “must” do it is great, the more the better, but it should never feel like an obligation.

What is also important is that your purpose of giving back to society/people/animals, etc. is not money! If you decide to give whatever you are capable of do it because you love doing it. Because it feels right, because it makes you feel happy, joyful, in the flow, the wonderful energy of giving. Joe explains about it in his e-book “Attract Money Now”, you can read all about it yourself, the e-book is totally free. In one of my earlier blog posts I shared the link, just scroll down to the bottom:

I am so happy i can continue reading and working with Joe’s e-book! Right now it’s late in the evening at my place. Tomorrow I intend to re-read, that is important, I really want to master what is written. I take it as a serious job. I’m so lucky I have the time to do this, that is something to be grateful for, I have no job right now, I’m disabled so a real job won’t be possible. But… I focus on what I can do. I will write more about that in future blog(s). And there is an abundance of possibilities, believe me… All I need to practise is energy, discipline and believing in myself.

Enough for now. Thank you for reading, I so much appreciate it you are here, you are special, we all are. Believe in your unlimited possibilities!

Childhood memories (1)

Standard

This way or another fear has always been part of my life…

My memories go back to age 3, don’t believe it? They really do! First thing I remember is very sad: we were on a vacation, I had a favorite doll I got from my grandmother. I still have that doll by the way!

My parents and I were taking a walk, at age 3 I wasn’t able to walk as fast as they did, at that time I wished I was but I simply couldn’t meet their expectations. And what they expected from me was crazy. After hours (at least a long time but to me at that time it felt like hours) walking my mother yelled at me i should walk faster or she would hurt my doll… The doll has a name, a Dutch one, in Dutch it is: “de zielige”, in English it would be “the pathetic”, even at the age of 3, a very young little girl, I reflected all my emotions into that doll and that was the reason I called her like that. My childhood was a nightmare, starting from day one I arrived to this world!

My mother threatened to hurt my doll… I started crying, noooooo please don’t hurt “de zielige”/”the pathetic”… That doll meant everything to me. I shared everything with her. I wanted to protect my doll from getting hurt, but I couldn’t, my legs were so tired, I was exhausted, I wasn’t a bad girl… But my mother thought different, she took my doll and started kicking it. Yes she did… so mean, she yelled at me I had to rescue my doll or she would kill her.

I cried out loud not understanding that people could be so mean. It hurt so much! Back to my fear issue… I was afraid she would really KILL my doll (at that time I believed my doll was a living being). She kicked my doll over and over again, she made me run to “catch” it…

So that was my first conscious experience with fear. A so much beloved doll was about to be killed… by the person I was supposed to love more than anything in the world, my mother…

Many more scary things happened to me in life, my childhood memories are dominated with fear. Fear became the main issue in my life… also when I reached the adult age. And right now still parts of that fear are part of my life…

Why am I writing this? Because of the blog I posted about my beliefs about money

I came to the conclusion that I’m afraid of money… and that is totally understandable after a childhood of horror (my 1st experience was just the beginning of horror).

Now don’t misunderstand me: I share this because I’m on a journey, an inner journey, to become aware of what’s holding me back to live the life I really want, to feel free, to be happy, to be abundant!

The message I got since childhood was totally wrong. I don’t want to stick there, my past must not be like super glue, it shouldn’t and I don’t want it like that!

But on my inner journey, it is important to become aware… and move on from there… I’m not the little girl anymore, no more bad adults kicking my most beloved doll… But I do realise this is the main cause of my fear… not only the fears about money, also being afraid to live, to follow my heart, to believe in me… Amazing how a bad childhood can lead to dramatic consequences at a later age (right now I’m 42).

I’ll be reflecting on childhood more, not because I feel trapped, but because of the awareness process, to point the finger to the cause… and to go on from there, to solve it, to let it go… to conquer my fear(s)…

I can do it… you can too… become real… face it, and continue from there… I don’t want to live in the past… I want to live in the present moment! Because that is all there is… not the past, not the future, only the NOW… and that moment is the past as soon as you read my words… a split second and it’s part of your beautiful history…Forget about that idea… just experience where you are RIGHT NOW… yes you can and so can I…

What are your beliefs about money?

Standard

In my very first blog post I told about the free e-book “Attract money now” by Joe Vitale. I started reading it last Sunday and also took action.

Yes you read it right… ACTION… Because by only reading an e-book you won’t attract money. What I love from the e-book that there is action, practical guidance to support each step you have to take in order to attract money in your life.

The first action is to write down your beliefs about money. It is very important to become aware of this. I already knew that but until now I didn’t do much with it.

So let me share my current beliefs about money, an eye-opener… confronting… and extremely useful because it’s the underlying cause, or at least a part of that contributes to the lack of money I experience right now.

The question in the e-book is similar to the title of this blog post:

What are your beliefs about money?

So I started writing:

  1. Money is scary, I’m afraid of money
  2. I always experience a lack of money
  3. I can’t handle money
  4. I’m not able to attract more money
  5. I don’t deserve money, I feel too guilty/not worthy to own more than I have right now
  6. Money? What do you mean? All I have is debt, bills I can’t pay for…
  7. It is heavy, hard, confusing
  8. I can’t afford to buy what I want
  9. Money makes me feel bad, like I’m a bad person

And so on… I could write down more but it all comes to the same conclusion: I’m afraid of money. I never realised it as strongly as I did Sunday evening. What a revelation that was to me. I need to do something about it, so that means more action.

Good thing is that I love action, I’m so ready to change old beliefs, so ready to learn one of my life lessons, so ready to improve who I am. Don’t misunderstand me: money won’t improve me, but I will improve if I let go of my fear! My self-confidence will grow when I can manifest, because people who manifest are in a flow of positive energy. And that is the main goal: my destination… money is only a tool, an important one, don’t misunderstand me. I desperately need much more of it right now. But it shouldn’t dominate my life. I need to focus on what I really want: I want to feel free, experience true joy, and above all: let go of that fear.

Fear has always been a main thing in my life. I have been afraid for a lot of stuff. I’ll reveal that in other blog posts. I love to share this with you. It helps me and maybe helps you too, I hope so!

If you face the same money challenge in your life ask yourself (and write down!) what your beliefs about money are. It is very important to become aware from what is holding you back from opening the flow of abundance in your life. You and I deserve abundance, everyone does. But do you really believe it? Do I? Right now I don’t, I’m brutally honest about that! Because if I did believe I deserve money, love, abundance, etc. I wouldn’t experience any lack of whatever, I would be in the flow… It is important to acknowledge this. Don’t fool yourself. Dare to look in the mirror! Dare to face your bears on the road. What is holding you back?

PS: I don’t earn commissions or so for sharing this link. I’m just enthusiastic about it. I don’t know Joe Vitale in person and untill last Sunday I only knew him by name. So don’t worry. I don’t want to sell anything to you, but share what helps me right now with you. Enjoy the journey!
